Rebel Miles Photography - So you've wanted to own a Harley Davidson in the past, however, were waiting for an updated look on a smaller bike? This newest update to the iconic Sportster model may have you placing an order for one today. It serves as an excellent city bike, is easy on the pocketbook and a breeze to ride.
An exciting and popular addition to the Harley Davidson lineup in 2016 was the Sportster 48. Typically, as has been the case with every currently produced Harley Davidson motorcycle, the bike exudes styling, class, comfort, street appeal and perhaps most importantly, steadfast reliability. The oil leaking, unreliable motorcycles produced by the Goliath of bike manufacturers in the 70's and 80's are long gone. The Sportster 48 is a great example of just that.

As has always has been the case with the Sportster models, they offer the part time, leisure rider a great economical means by which to get on the road. The price for this model is substantially less than some of the other Harley Davidson models which no doubt ads to its popularity.

There are some of the purists who would argue that every motorcycle produced today should include such options such as “ride by wire“ technology, additional engine modes or traction control but that is simply not the case. The power house moving the bike down the road has not been updated for the Sportster 48. It remains a 1200cc, Air Cooled, V-Twin which while reliable is not particularly dynamic to ride. Don't let that fool you though as it still produces enough torque and top end to keep your attention. It produces more than enough power for an inexperienced rider or a person small in stature. The popular Sportster has been produced, in one form or another, for over 50 years. That is an astounding accomplishment and should not be overlooked by the full time riders wondering how they will survive without any of the newest options. The Harley Davidson 48 is a legend in the world of motorcycles and no one can dispute that fact.
